First Friend Birthday Party!

This year January has been a party month for our family. Lilly turned 5 and we have definitely celebrated :) We went to the movies on her birthday with her cousins, and now we had Lilly's first ever Friend Birthday Party! I promised her last year that I would help her throw a party for friends, but with Emma being a preemie/newborn a friend party wasn't in the cards. So I really had to go all out this year :)
The Theme for her party was Fairy Princess Picnic and it was so much fun to decorate and help Lilly host. Here is a picture of some of the decorations, I made the paper lanterns and strung them along our entry way to the dinning room. Mike and I hung the streamers and taped silk flowers on them to make the room feel like a garden, a fairy princess garden that is! It was an all girl party, I bought these cute pink pixie wings online and some plastic gems and used sticky dots to make them into gem stickers, the girls then had at it with the wings and gems decorating their very own fairy wings to wear and take home. I think they really loved the wings, because most of the girls wore their wings the entire party.

We found these adorable cupcake papers at the party store and made funfettie cupcakes with pink frosting and candy flowers on top. They were a hit!

I thought that the girls would want to sit on the floor to eat cupcakes, but they all sat so nicely around the table. I think they wanted to stay close to the cupcakes and punch bowl. We also bought little fairy sized plastic cups for the party too. (they really are shot glasses) :)
The grand finale of the party was cotton candy! What fairy princess doesn't like pink homemade cotton candy :) I think that each of the girls had two servings of cotton candy.
I am so glad that all of these adorable fairy princesses could come party like princesses with us!
