The Best Gift (Rosemary Clooney)
The best gift that I ever got
Didn't really weigh a lot.
It didn't have a ribbon 'round,
And it sometimes made an awful sound.
The best of all it seems to me,
It wasn't 'neath the Christmas tree.
And yet, I guess I'd have to say,
That it made all the other presents twice as gay.
The best gift that I've ever known,
I'd always wanted most to own.
Yet in my dreams of sugar and spice,
I never thought it could be so nice.
The best gift that I'll ever get
Was sometimes dry and sometimes wet,
Was usually pink, but oftentimes red
As it lay so innocently in its bed.
The best gift of the year to me,
The one I hold most dear to me,
The gift that simply drove me wild,
Was a tiny, newborn child.
Little Emma has filled our home with so much love! She is a month old today, I can't believe it, we've only had her home for a few days, and they have made our Christmas magical. It is so much fun having two girls, they are both so sweet. I can't imagine my life with out them. Our family feels much more complete now, my heart is at peace.

That is a great X-mas present... She is adorable... I'm so happy for you guys and Lily needed to be a big sister and she is so happy it just shines through her... Congrats again...Oh yeah I love the picture too....
Barbara Striesand sang that poem also, I have been trying to find a copy of it.
Love the pictures!
Mom
I love the picture. When I was a baby I came home in a stocking and my brother wanted to put me under the tree so the picture made me smile :) She is so beautiful. I really like the poem too. This is one I have that I really like too.
Once there were two expectant mothers.
One carried and cared for you beneath her beating heart
She became your Birthmother.
The other carried the hope of you within her.
She became your Mom.
As the days passed, and you grew bigger and stronger,
Your Birthmother knew that she could not give you all you needed after your birth.
Meanwhile, your Mom was ready and waiting for you.
One day your Birthmom and your Mom found each other.
They looked into each other’s eyes and saw a friend.
Your Birthmom saw the life your Mom could give you.
Your Mom saw how much your Birthmom loved and cared for you.
They decided that what you needed was both kinds of love in your life.
So now you have two families,
One by birth, the other by adoption.
And you have a home where you can get:
your questions answered,
your boo boos bandaged,
your heartaches soothed,
And much needed hugs.
And a place where you can find:
answers to your questions,
your image in the mirror,
a part of yourself,
And much needed hugs.
Two different kinds of families
Two different kinds of love
Both a part of you.
Love, M.
Love the picture under the tree. We have a similar one of our miracle last year! Congratulations!
